"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Some of My Favorite Cows

I just thought I would show you some of the cows that I like.  This isn't all of them, but I hope to get pictures of some more of them later.  Sadly, I don't have a pedigree on all of them as some of the ones we bought were from herds that didn't record that data.  Ah well.

Anyway, here you go :)

The first one up is 10

10 is a first lactation heifer.  Her dam was NOxJExAY.  She is out of Edberg a New Zealand Ayshire.  I bred her to a Normande (Royal Holl) but she came back into heat and one of the herd bulls bred her the second time around.

Next up is 530
unfortunately we don't have any pedigree information on her as she is one of our purchased cows.  But, to my best guess, she is a Jersey/Milking Shorthorn cross  I bred her to a new New Zealand Ayrshire this year--Quinella.
Then we have 824, who my husband calls "Panda poo"
Panda is a Dutch Belt/Normande cross.  Her sire was one of my father-in-law's herd bulls, but her dam's sire was 180NO4.  I don't know which Normande bull that was, however.  180NO4 was also 10's great grand sire.  She is on her 3rd lactation and I bred her to Uno (from Barb Wogsland's stock)  I was half tempted to breed her to Brody again, just because I really like her daughter (pictured below)
Then there is 2ey (Two-ey) don't ask me, my brother-in-law named her.
2ey's dam is 824 (the cow pictured above her) and her sire is the New Zealand Ayshire Brody.  She is also a first lactation heifer.  She is a three quartered cow.  We had quite a bit of trouble with cross sucking that year.  I bred her to Priha - Finnish Ayrshire

That is my showcase for today.  I hope to get some more of my favorite cows pictured soon--we shall see.
