"Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."

Cows Jumping over the Moon? Nope Just the Fences

Our cows have been a bit onry lately.  My husband is starting to get a little concerned.  We got a chance to get away to the Young Cooperatives Summer Event with Maryland & Virginia Milk Producers, which was WONDERFUL!  I should have taken pictures...

Anyway, while we were away, a man from our church and Danny's dad were taking care of the cows.  Danny's dad forgot to shut the cows in their pasture one morning and that evening he and Titus (the man from church) got to the farm a little late, but both managed to arrive at the same time.  I believe it was a divine appointment.  The cows all left their pasture and were standing at the gap, waiting to cross the road.  Just as both men pulled up, the cows broke through the fence!  Some went where they were supposed to, and others started sampling the grass along the road.  Danny's dad put up one side of the road crossing gap (the side that apparently seemed less inviting to the cows) and managed to weave through the throng of bovine who were trying to decide which adventure they wanted to go on.  He ran up and got in front of the cows and chased them back down to where they were supposed to go.  We cannot deny that God had a hand in getting those men to the farm right at the exact moment they needed to be there!

Danny, after hearing this, put up a second wire at the road crossing gap and wouldn't you know, the cows crashed through both gaps that very evening as he was riding his bike down to cross them (they were not waiting there very long at all--maybe 5 minutes).  We are not sure what is causing all of these disturbances, but it has us a little on edge.

What we usually do if we cannot figure out what is going on or why is we blame the bulls.  It is not scientific at all, but I will say that we do not have these problems when the bulls are not in with the cows.  That and today when the cows did this, Danny caught a glimpse of the goat looking bull at the gap before it was crashed through.

So, that is our "fun" that has been going on.  There is never a dull moment in dairy farming...in fact we wish for them.
